Stephania Ergemlidze

Stephania Ergemlidze brings hope through hoops. On her social media channels, Stephania, a first Generation Multi-cultural American, illustrates basketball’s value as a cultural movement, one that crosses boundaries of gender, race, and skill level. She draws an audience not only to her personal accounts but also her account @basketball on Instagram and TikTok. During the pandemic, Stephania made national news by bringing her portable hoop around to protest sites and inviting people to play in the streets. The activism project was called "Ballin' For Justice." Since then, she has dedicated her platform to building up communities and bringing together all walks of life through sports, with content that bounces from training, 1-on-1s, skits, memes, and behind-the-scenes of life like a crossover dribble. Born disabled, Stephania's parents were told it was unlikely she’d ever walk, much less play sports. Her fierce and fearless strength is defying limitations and dominating the game.
